The Engineering Department primary activities include plan and project review; grading, street and drainage plan checks, permit issuance, maintenance of permit and plan files, engineering records, maps and other technical reports and documents, 5 Year - Capital Improvement Plan, building and construction inspections, traffic engineering studies and projects, construction bids, minimum standards enforcement and technical support and assistance to other departments and offices throughout the City.  The Engineering Department administers and enforces public works and engineering standards and specifications. It directs design and construction of city public work projects.
