Credit Card Authorization

Whether signing up for service via fax or in the office, each applicant is required to furnish the following information:

Application DateName of applicant.

Date of service to begin.

Location of premises to be served. 

-

Owners Name

-

Customer's mailing address. 

-

Whether applicant is owner or tenant of, or agent for, the premises and establish proof thereof.

Resident’s Phone, Business Phone, Drivers License and Tax Id number.

Information to establish credit of applicant. 

-

Such other information as the Utility may reasonably require.

Service is generally scheduled for the following business day or future business date as requested. Same day service is provided for walk in customers that are in by 2:00pm (No Exceptions). Water Service Contracts received via fax or by mail will be processed within two business days from the date received. An Establishment fee of $20.00 is charged to the first monthly billing as an administrative cost to set up the account.

Deposit Required

A deposit is required in order to establish service. The Deposit is a guarantee of final payment; therefore, no interest is paid on the amount. The minimum Deposit per meter are as follows:

Residential Water - $ 50.00

Commercial Water - $ 100.00

Commercial Water multiple units – three times the average bill with a minimum of $100.00 (or based on two months average of a like business)

Hydrant Meters - $1000.00 

For customer convenience, the Deposit will be charged to the first months bill Another option is to have your Deposit waived if you have had service for one consecutive year with Indio Water Authority within the last two years and are in good credit standing.
