The Community Development Services/Building & Safety Department processes development proposals through the entitlement process, maintains the City of Indio General Plan 2020 and its implementation via specific plans, zone text, subdivision map act, capital improvement planning and environmental regulations and various other entitlement processes. It assists with redevelopment and participates in certain regional activities. This department reviews all building plans, performs all building inspections for compliance with approved plans, city, county, and state codes as well as all current building regulations adopted by the City.
The City of Indio has an Industrial and Manufacturing Fast Track policy. Under this policy, industrial and manufacturing projects can be approved in as little as 45 days.
