Recycle Tip! Cut up cardboard boxes and old carpet remnants work well as weed barriers. Even difficult weeds - nutgrass, bindweed and thistle - can't grow through carpet.

Zero-Waste Event at the Tamale Festival
The City of Indio partnered with G-Rock for the second year in a row to bring a Zero-Waste Event to Downtown Indio. The event took place during the Tamale Festival, December 5 & 6, 2009. The 2009 Tamale Festival brought in more than 160,000 people over the weekend with more than 70 tamale vendors ready to serve the hungry!
During the Zero Waste Event, Tamale Festival attendees were taught the what, where, when and how to recycle. Enjoy the video to watch the staff and Mr. Recycle show that the City of Indio & IWA is doing its part to create a healthier environment for everyone to work, live and play. http://www.vimeo.com/8804838
