As trained firefighters, volunteers respond side by side with
Career firefighters to structure and vehicle fires, medical
Emergencies, traffic accidents, hazardous materials, floods and
other emergencies. Volunteer firefighters also participate in
public education, fire prevention programs and equipment
displays during the City’s many Festivals. In 2003, Volunteer Firefighters participated in over 2500 hours of training, and
provided over 6000 hours of emergency service and stand bys.
Being a volunteer provides great training and the ability for you
