“City of Festivals” is more than a nickname in Indio - it’s a fact. Hundreds of thousands of visitors are introduced to Indio because of a wide variety of events such as the Indio International Tamale Festival held the first weekend in December every year in Old Town Indio.
The Indio Special Events staff provides hands-on production; assistance and/or serves as liaison between the City and the organizations that present these venues. Combined, these say “Welcome To Indio-City of Festivals.”
The Special Events Department moved to 45-700 Aladdin St. (Indio Senior Center)! Anyone interested in requesting a park use permit, garage sale permit, rummage sale permit, special event permit, special land use permit or anyone with questions regarding the Tamale Festival should visit staff at the new location.
