Dates and Times of Traffic Delays

Thursday, October 29, 2009 through Sunday, November 1, 2009

0900 to 0200

The Phish 8 Music Festival will be held at the Empire Polo Grounds, 81-800 Avenue 50, starting on October 30, 2009 and ending on November 1, 2009.

The Phish Music Festival will be an all day event and we anticipate major traffic delays. There will be road closures. Please plan ahead and expect delays when traveling throughout Indio and in La Quinta near the event.

INDIO POLICE EXPECT TRAFFIC DELAYS STARTING 1200 NOON ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 29, THROUGH 2:00 A.M., MONDAY NOVEMBER 2, 2009. EXPECT DELAYS AFTER 10 A.M. ON THE FOLLOWING ROADWAYS:

IF YOU ARE NOT ATTENDING THE MUSIC FESTIVAL, AVOID THESE ROADWAYS:

Ø Jefferson Street, Southbound, from Indio Blvd. to Avenue 52.

Ø Monroe Street, Southbound from I-10 to Avenue 52.

Ø Highway 111 at Jefferson Street.

Ø Highway 111 at Monroe Street

Ø Avoid I-10 Exit Eastbound at Jefferson.

Ø Avoid I-10 Exit Eastbound at Monroe.

INDIO POLICE RECOMMEND THESE ALTERNATE ROUTES TO AVOID MUSIC FESTIVAL TRAFFIC:

For North/South in Indio, it is recommended you use Madison Street, Jackson Street, Calhoun Street, and Golf Center Parkway.

For East/West travel in Indio, it is recommended you use Fred Waring Drive, Miles Avenue, and Avenue 48.

Alternative Routes

If you live South of Avenue 52 near the event, go South to Airport Blvd before going Eastbound or Westbound.

Road Closures:

Ø Avenue 49 at Monroe.

Ø Avenue 50 between Jackson Street and Madison Street.

Ø Hjorth Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50.

Ø Madison Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50.

Roads will be converted to one way after 11 P.M. on show days

Roads adjacent to the event will be converted to one-way to facilitate exiting traffic at the conclusion of the festival. If you are picking someone up from the festival, or live in the area, police urge you to plan a head, and get to your destination at least one hour prior to the midnight conclusion of the festivals.

You will have difficulty getting into the area after 11 p.m.

Ø Monroe Street will be converted to northbound traffic only from Avenue 52 to Avenue 48.

Ø Avenue 50 will be Westbound only from Madison to Jefferson.

Ø Avenue 52 will be Eastbound only from Madison to Monroe.
