The City of Indio will begin construction on improvements to the Indio Badlands Trailhead beginning Monday, February 23, 2026. Project improvements include a new parking lot with over 30 additional parking spaces, over 45 new trees will be planted, along with landscaping upgrades, solar-powered lighting, and a new walking path for improved access. The trail will remain open during construction and parking will only be available on Avenue 42 and Golf Center Parkway.

Construction will be completed Monday-Friday from 7am-6pm and construction is expected to be completed by June 2026.

Once construction is complete, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be scheduled.
