Bryan Montgomery has served 30 years in local government and has been Indio’s City Manager since May of 2021. Prior to his service in Indio, Bryan served as the City of Manager of Oakley, CA where he served for nearly 16 years. Previously, he served as City Manager of Mesquite, NV and Rupert, ID. He also served as the Assistant City Manager in Alamogordo, NM and as a Management Aide in Provo, UT.

Bryan has a Bachelor’s degree in International Government Relations and a Master’s degree in Public Administration, both from Brigham Young University.  In addition to his local government service, Mr. Montgomery was an Adjunct Professor at San Francisco State University and Los Medanos College, speaks Spanish and periodically lectures in Latin America for the ICMA, the leading organization of local government professionals. In 2015, he was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance for his decades of pro-bono assistance to ICMA’s Mexico office. In Mexico he conducted field visits to provide technical assistance to multiple cities and participated in workshops and other events to promote professional local government management. 

Bryan and his wife Monica reside in Indio. Their two grown children are married and live out of state.
