Lane reductions: Water main installation on Madison St

• Madison Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50

When: May 11, 2026 to June 26, 2026. 

Please be advised that Indio Water will be making improvements to install an 18" waterline that will establish a critical loop within the area's water system. This work is to upgrade its infrastructure and transmission lines. 

Traffic Impacts:

• Northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to one lane.
• The existing traffic signal at Avenue 50/Madison St will be on flashing red. 

Please plan ahead for delays and use alternate routes when possible.  

Lane reductions: Water mainline project Avenue 42.

• Avenue 42 between Glass Dr and Country Club Dr

When: June 8-19, 2026

Myoma Dunes Mutual Water Company will be completing a water mainline project to intertie with the City of Indio water system. This work will provide critical emergency watermain lines for the area.  

Traffic Impacts: 

• Expect traffic lanes to be reduced to a single lane in the eastbound and westbound directions. 

Please plan ahead for delays and use alternate routes when possible. 

Lane reductions: Indio Blvd at Burr St

• Indio Blvd - between Shell gas station and Burr St.

When: June 15-17, 2026

Commerce Construction will be capping of (2) Irrigation laterals within median of Indio Boulevard. This work is for the development project on the Quinn CAT site and future development of the adjacent parcel along Indio Boulevard. 

Traffic Impacts: 

• Expect traffic lanes to be reduced to a single lane in the westbound direction. 
• West bound lane adjacent to the median will be merged into the #2 lane between Burr St and Jefferson St.
• Eastbound traffic will not be impacted.

Lane reductions: Indio Blvd between Grace St and Requa Ave

• Indio Blvd - between Grace St and Requa Ave.

When: June 15-19, 2026

Cochran Communication Construction will be installing telecommunication service lines to a commercial building located at 83161 Indio Blvd. 

Traffic Impacts: 

• Expect traffic lanes to be reduced to a single lane in the eastbound direction on Indio Blvd. 
• Westbound traffic on Indio Blvd will not be impacted. 
• The shoulder of Requa Ave will be closed on the north side of the street. This will affect the westbound lane of Requa Ave, but traffic should still be able to get around the work area.
