The City of Indio hosted Government Day on Thursday, May 31, 2018 and the Council Chambers were completely filled with students and chaperones! Three schools were in attendance with 85 students in grades 3-5 from Amelia Earhart Elementary, Dr. Carreon Academy and James Madison Elementary. This was an opportunity for city departments to provide a brief presentation to the students and do a little show and tell including Indio police cars and public works trucks such as backhoes and bucket trucks. The students got a warm welcome from Mayor Michael Wilson and City Manager Mark Scott along with additional information from finance, community services, environmental programs, fire and more! The students were excited, attentive and had great questions for all of the departments.
