In recent years, IWA has been installing additional water mains on the Highway 111 corridor to build redundancy, increase reliability and efficiency, and meet the water needs of a growing city. IWA has contracted Apple Valley Construction Company, Inc. to construct 1,350 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water mains this summer on the southern side of Arabia Street to Oasis Street.
Work will begin in early September and be complete by early November. Construction will occur primarily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. Occasional night work will be part of the project to minimize traffic impact and service disruptions.
Construction will take place on the eastbound side of Highway 111 from Arabia Street to Oasis Street. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project with only minor restrictions for safety.
Temporary Water Outage
In order to install the new water main, some temporary service interruptions will be necessary during construction. IWA will work with the contractor to minimize service interruptions and any impact on your business. A more detailed schedule will be provided as the project schedule is finalized. 48 hours notice will be provided before any scheduled water outage.
