Building & Safety Division


Under the direction of the Community Development Department, the Building & Safety Division is responsible for reviewing building plans, issuing building permits, and performing building inspections.

New building construction require submittal of plans. When engineering is part of the design, plans should be prepared by a licensed professional engineer or architect.  Each plan sheet should bear their stamp and wet signature.  Every building permit application is required to submit three copies of plans.  The only types of permits that do not require plan submittals are appliance installation or replacements.

Following your completion of the online application form, you must pay the required application fee in order for the application to be processed. You can make your fee payment via the following link.

Please note that you will receive an email within 5 to 10 business days from the date you submit confirming the receipt of your online application.

We are working diligently to make all of our forms capable of being digitally signed and sent to us. Unfortunately, many of our forms still need to be downloaded, filled out, scanned and uploaded. To address this issue, we have opened an online upload portal for all legacy forms to be easily transmitted to city staff. Here it is.
