*NEW: Now the City of Indio Planning Division is offering Virtual Inspections. Please click here for more information.

For Planning Inspections, please email your request with address (for commercial inspections) and address and lot number (for residential inspections) to  A Planning Services representative will contact you within 24 hours to schedule the inspection.

When requesting an inspection provide the following information:

  • Address

2. Online Planning Application and Fee Payment Process:

To submit an online planning application form, you will first need to access the relevant online application form. All planning related application forms can be viewed and downloaded here

We are working diligently to make all of our forms capable of being digitally signed and sent to us. Unfortunately, many of our forms still need to be downloaded, filled out, scanned and uploaded. To address this issue, we have opened an online upload portal for all legacy forms to be easily transmitted to city staff. Here it is.

Please note that you will receive an email within 48 hours from the date you submit confirming the receipt of your online application.

Following your completion of the online application form, you must pay the required application fee in order for the application to be processed. You can make your fee payment via the following online payment link

Prior to submittal of an application and/or fees, please contact the Planning Division directly to get a breakdown of fees for your
project. Planning Division: (760) 391-4120.

You will receive an email within 48 hours from the date your submit confirming the receipt of your online payment.

Please contact Alyssa Suarez, Senior Planner, at, should you have any questions.
