We appreciate continued investment in the Indio community. We are working to continue to provide planning services and are implementing alternative service strategies. We have implemented alternative staffing arrangements to help manage the safety of our staff, our customers, and the community in response to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Effective March 17, 2020, we will, on a weekly basis, have alternating staff working at City Hall or in the field and from home. While we will strive to provide continued high quality customer service, we ask for your understanding and patience for any short delays or disruption in service.
1. Scheduling of Planning Inspections
For Planning Inspections, please email your request with address (for commercial inspections) and address and lot number (for residential inspections) to Lnamvar@indio.org. A Planning Services representative will contact you within 24 hours to schedule the inspection.
When requesting an inspection provide the following information:
To help insure the safety and health of City staff, there will be no planning inspections within the interior of lived-in dwelling units where a staff person has to enter the home to complete the inspection. If an inspector can gain access from the exterior and not go through the house, then that inspection will be performed.
Please note that a permit must still be applied for and received, however, an applicant will have up to 12 months from the date of the issued permit to request an inspection (s).
2. Online Planning Application and Fee Payment Process:
To submit an online planning application form, you will first need to access the relevant online application form. All planning related application forms can be viewed and downloaded here.
We are working diligently to make all of our forms capable of being digitally signed and sent to us. Unfortunately, many of our forms still need to be downloaded, filled out, scanned and uploaded. To address this issue, we have opened an online upload portal for all legacy forms to be easily transmitted to city staff. Here it is.
Please note that you will receive an email within 48 hours from the date you submit confirming the receipt of your online application.
Following your completion of the online application form, you must pay the required application fee in order for the application to be processed. You can make your fee payment via the following online payment link.
